Comparison of laparoscopic cystectomy and fenestration/cauterization procedures in terms of pelvic pain and recurrence in patients with endometrioma

Abstract
 Introduction: Endometriosis is an estrogen-dependent, progressive inflammatory disease caused by the growth of endometrium-like tissue outside uterine cavity. In women reproductive age, it a prevalent cause pelvic pain. Surgical intervention may be required in insufficiency conservative treatments and laparoscopic procedures should prioritized for surgery. The objective our study was to compare efficacy fenestration-cauterization cyst excision patients with ovarian endometrioma on dysmenorrhea, non-menstrual pain, dyspareunia, dyschezia symptoms.
 Materials methods: comprised 112 who underwent surgery whose data could obtained. 76.8% (n=86) patients, cystectomy conducted, 23.2% (n=26) fenestration+cauterization were performed. patients' preoperative examination findings VAS (Visual Analog Scale) pain levels retrieved retrospectively. Patients contacted again during study, scores recalculated, gynecological ultrasound scan performed check recurrence. collected analyzed comparatively.
 Results: mean age 35.5 ± 6.8 years group 32.3 5.9 group. 12.5% (n=14) cases classified as stage I, 3.5% (n=4) II, 32% (n=36) III, 52% (n=58) IV. operative time significantly shorter compared (respectively/min 50.0±18.4 /61.3.±16.8, p=0.014). both groups, number NMPP, had high decreased (p<0.005). procedures, there no difference between recurrence rates (p=0.801). After surgical treatment, significant decrease III-IV dysmenorrhea NMPP 
 Conclusion: We emphasize significance laparoscopy treatment endometriosis. Both fenestration + cauterization reduced symptoms, especially advanced not different.
